"All the lights I deny coming at the end of this nights. Neverending circles you will find When everything’s always the same so don’t mind". ----------------- These are thoughts, ideas, stories and saws mostly written at night: My band, my music, my movies, my country, my moods...my life! I'm well-aware of this to be not that interesting for the most of people, but it's all I have! CHEERS

ONCE

Woke up early enough this morning...well, enough for being an unemployed English teacher waiting for the Italian school system to change in a way (but i guess we gotta wait for someone to DIE!!!). Anyway...writing something, playing my guitar a bit, listening much more to some music, watching videos on youtube...and so I ran back in "ONCE" and all that comes after this movie: The Frames, The Swell Season, Glen Hansard and so on!!!

I feel so connected to this indipendent movie, maybe because of my passion for music and the fact that I would do, I did and I'm doing many of the things "the guy" does in the movie! Anyway, I Love that kind of approach to music and I'm facing many of the difficulties all the "wannabe" singers, guitarists, musicians and artists in general are facing day by day. Well, I won't be complaining here about all the things that don't work here in Italy!!! Trying to stay positive, I just wanted to spread the word about this special movie, talking about "a guy" playing in the streets of Dublin (go there, Ireland is GREAT), helping his father fixing hoovers, meeting a music lover just like himself (Marketa is lovely!) and so on...enjoy this special movie, it's really worth it, I think!!!!

I met these guys in Cork in August...it was an amazing gig, it goes by itself. I'm not staying here trying to analyze them and how they stayed "simple" even after winning the oscar for "falling Slowly". I don't know them and I don't think it is the point...the point is their music, their love and passion coming out each single chord or word they sing on stage! Anyway, it was nice to say hi and THANK YOU to Glen and Marketa after the show outside the "Everyman Palace" in Cork (lovely theatre, amazing acoustics).

I was second raw and a couple of steps from the stage...and outside Glen was nice and funny, and he told me they'd hit the road to Italy soon next year: ROME!!! It was a magical night, and getting back to Italy and caserta wasn't that easy, for a thousand reasons I won't be explaining here (it would be boring to myself!).

Anyway, I Do agree with Glen when he says that "music ain't like sports, there's no sense in number ones and charts". Well I guess he was happy to win an oscar, and it's the best thing that an artist could imagine, having his own music, art in general, appreciated by other people! This is undeniable!!! But fuck all the other things...well, I guess I'm getting fed up of myself in here, so...

Cheers mates

Beginning again?

Well, after our last gig I was a bit sad about the performance we had: It's not about the "poor" audience (we'll always thank our faithful friends who, anyway, are fully understood when fed up about these filthy guys sweating and singing their old songs!!!!); it's not about the hardly upstanding gig we put on in just a couple of rehearsals in my room, after our drummer got rid of us! Well, it's just about the fact that I wish our band could improve in a significant way, getting better and better after any each gig we play...

This is what is left of "The Disappearing One" at the moment...we'll be looking for a new drummer, that's clear. In the mean time we're getting back into the studios soon to keep working on the tracks for "Transitional Phase". I hope we won't get to hate what we've been loving for a long time! I'd like to leave a clue of the artwork-to-be for the album!

This is not the right colour of the cover, but maybe "blogger" Likes blue better!!!

Cheers

First gig of the live-season-intheclubs

We're playing tomorrow night, Friday 18th, in a nice PUBlic House in Caserta. It's called "YouToo" and it is clearly inspired by Dublin, Ireland and the love of the owner for those places and THE band U2. Anyway...we're playing there with an acoustic set, no drum because we lost another piece of the band along the way! But I don't feel like talking about this now...this is a strange and tough moment the band is living, but we hope we finally go through this. So, at the moment it's just the three of us, and we'll decide what to do in the next future together, as USUAL!!!
The thing is I DO Love playing concerts with a band, that's why I think we'll finally be looking for another drum player. Even because our first record will be out soon, and we'd like to play a concert to celebrate the release of "Transitional Phase". I think this name couldn't fit to the moment we're living any better!!! In the mean time we'll be looking for gigs to schedule in small clubs, so that the acoustic-intimate set doesn't seem too soft!
Well, that's all I guess for now...

Recording Sessions

A few months ago (too many months in my own opinion) we got into the studios to record our first "studio" album. Until then I was the only one to write, play and record at home my humble songs! We were all excited about this new experience! Well, after toooo much time it seems we're coming to an end with this record, called "Transitional Phase". People come and go, and at the time of the release our band won't have the same line-up of the early days! That's a pity...but "people are like seasons"!
Anyway, we can't wait for the record to be out...in the mean time I'll leave here a short clip of the beginning of these "neverending" recording sessions!
Cheers

My first post in here

This is my first post in here. I'm still thinking about which language I should use in these blogs. Well, it goes by itself that the choice is between Italian or English, though I could even use Spanish! Anyway, I'm typing in English...I began doing it unconsciously, so maybe I already chose!
I'd like to use this space to tell something about my band (The Disappearing One), my music, my movies (those I love:I'm not a movie maker)...about my life. As I already said, I KNOW well it might be not that interesting, but it's all I have!

I hope I'll find the time to do this...it will happen mostly at night, I know!

So...what can I say now: CHEERS anyone
